Understanding PDA Through a Neuroaffirming Lens
Parenting a child or young person with a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile can often feel confusing, exhausting and isolating. Many families find that traditional parenting advice, behaviour systems and conventional approaches simply do not work, and can sometimes make situations more difficult.
Our PDA From the Inside course has been designed to help parents move beyond behaviours and gain a deeper understanding of what is happening beneath the surface. Rooted in neuroaffirming practice, lived experience and current understanding of PDA, this six-week programme provides practical support, insight and strategies that can make a meaningful difference to family life.
Rather than focusing on compliance, rewards or consequences, we explore the underlying experiences of children and young people with PDA, helping parents understand the role of anxiety, autonomy, overwhelm and emotional safety.
