What to do when all we want to do is help.

I find it challenging to decide what to do to best support W. He struggles so much with so many things it's really really hard to know what is best.

W has DCD and benign hypermobility syndrome. This means even a little bit of physical exercise hurts W. We have sought out so much support and we are constantly told that we must push him through it and get him to carry on. This means we often have a very upset W. The thing is to be able to help W we need to somehow help home to build up strength, particularly in his posture. Due to the many difficulties that he has this in itself is going to be very difficult for them as well as painful.

We also know that interventions are not likely to help him improve much either.

This is where it's so difficult to really know what to do. When W is sobbing when you're pushing it through the pain and you are told this is the best thing to do but the end result isn't going to make much difference to him is it really right?

I feel so bad about the pain he experiences and the fact that everyday things are so hard and painful for him.

The thing is W's pain contr

ols every part of his life. He hurts so much and struggles so much. It stops him from doing what most children do and stops him from enjoying any days out and any activities.

Sometimes as a parent, I find it hard to know what is the best to do for W and It hurts so much that I cannot take his pain away and make him feel better.
